Paul Seymour has spent twenty years in the Outdoor Adventure industry. When it comes to climbing and mountains of the United Kingdom, there’s not a lot that he hasn’t touched. He holds his Mountain Training Mountaineering and Climbing Instructor Trainee award, alongside his Mountain Leader, Rock Climbing Instructor and Climbing Wall Development Instructor Awards.
With these awards he has climbed, walked, guided, coached, trained and explored throughout the UK. His base is Cornwall, yet his working environment is national. Local areas of expertise are the South West sea cliff’s and inland crags, Bodmin Moor, Dartmoor, plus the climbing walls of the South West. Areas of travel and work include the Brecons, Eryri (Snowdonia), The Lake district, Glen Coe and further afield.
Added to this he also holds the British Canoe Award of Level 3 Open Canoe Coach (Water Water), Kayak Coach, Mountain Bike Instructor (MIAS) and a series of other outdoor and adventurous awards.
Currently lecturing at Duchy College on their Outdoor Adventure Education Diploma course, he regularly coaches students in rock climbing rope skills, navigation, expeditioning, paddlesport and personal climbing. Paul also provides technical advice on the Duchy College climbing and mountaineering departments, with regular updates to their operating procedures and safety risk management.

Paul Seymour, the owner and proprietor of Seymour Adventure Co has been providing adventure and training experiences to the industry since 2003. His ethos is to find the adventurer in you, rather than take you on an adventure.
Paul is a UK trained mountaineer, rock climbing instructor, indoor wall instructor, white water canoe coach, kayak coach, mountain bike instructor and bushcraft trainer and enthusiast. He holds high level awards in each of these subjects. He has been delivering outdoor training, educational experiences and expeditions into the wilderness throughout the past two decades. He has also been on many personal adventures himself in this time, putting him in a position of experience that matches the best in his field.
This pathway has led him through being a principle training provider for the South West Moorland Leader scheme, and associated trainer for Mountain Training courses in rock climbing and indoor climbing. Added to this, his deep knowledge of risk management, we have a fully rounded character for the extreme environments found throughout the mountains and rivers of the United Kingdom.
Never happier than when ascending (or descending) the sea cliffs of the coastline of Cornwall, the mountains of Snowdonia, or the moors and rivers of Dartmoor. He even finds exploring the Cornish tin mines with ropes and torches a grand day out. There’s always somewhere new to discover, and if not then repeating a favourite climb or paddle is always on the cards.
Paul’s style has always been about inclusivity, exploration and togetherness. Every course or experience is constructed around the needs of the client. Excitement and adventure can be found in all environments, it doesn’t have to be the hardest, highest, longest or deepest to create memories. What is important for Paul, is that you leave the experience with knowledge and learning that will help take you on to your own pathway.
So, whatever it is that you seek; learning, training, adventure, excitement or perhaps just an experience then choosing the Seymour Adventure Co experience is a really good place to start.
